SL Trial Balance/Budget Report

Important

This report is only available once the SL Overlay is installed and the Map Shortcut Dims to Budget Dims. is enabled. If you do not have this enabled, you will receive an error message "“Map Shortcut Dims. To Budget Dims. on the SL Overlay Setup page Must be turned on".

This report is similar to the Dynamics SL Budget Segment Detail and pulls all budget ledger data for the company, fiscal year, ledger, and dimensions.

You can access the report from the SL Report Action Menu on the Budget list and Budget page, or by using the search feature.

The SL Overlay SL Trial Balance/Budget report displays a Net Change column for Actual entries for the current period called Current Period Net Change, a Budget column for the current period called Current Period Budget, a Net Change column for Actual entries for YTD called Year To Date Net Change, a Budget column for YTD called Year To Date Budget, and an Annual Budget column for the total budget for the year called Annual Budget.

-The SL Overlay adds functionality to allow users to filter on Shortcut Dimensions 3 through 6 by adding a filter options for Shortcut Dimensions 3-6 in the filtering list for Filter Totals By…. To filter by dimensions, in the Filter Totals by section, select a dimension value from the dropdown next to the dimension you wish to use as a filter.

Important

Only Dimensions 1 through 6 are used for this report. Any amounts related to additional Dimensions in the Dimension set are allocated based on Dimensions 1 through 6 only.

The SL Overlay also adds fiscal period functionality to the Options page. You can choose the date range of the report by selecting the Beginning Period and Ending Period in the format MM-YYYY (fiscal period).

Important

To use the Fiscal Period option in reporting, you will first need to activate Enable Fiscal Period Feature in the Fiscal Period fast tab of SL Overlay Setup. For more information on the SL Overlay Setup page, see: SL Overlay Setup

Note

If you enter a period range for Beginning Period and Ending Period this will override any entries in the Date filter field. and dates entered are not used.
