SL Trial Balance Detail/Summary Report

The SL Overlay Trial Balance Detail/Summary report with Print Transaction Detail option is similar to the Dynamics SL Detail General Ledger report and lists all transactions posted to the General Ledger along with their beginning and ending balances. This report is generally used for auditing and archiving General Ledger information and viewing information for account analysis. This information can be reported for a single period or across a range of periods.

The report can be run in detail or summary format. Enabling the Transaction Detail button in the Options page means that details of each transaction are included in the report. A detailed report will have a list of each account entry. Otherwise, if not enabled, the report prints in summary and only the totals of the transactions are included.

You can access the report on the Role Center > SL Reports menu, in the Chart of Accounts > SL Reports menu, or by using the search feature and searching for SL Trial Balance Detail/Summary.

To use the Shortcut Dimensions Global dimensions 1 and 2 and shortcut dimensions 3-8 for filtering results, select the shortcut dimension from the Filter Totals By list in the report parameters. If there are other dimensions beyond 1-8, they will be added into the short-cut dimensions 3-8 totals.

For the date range, you can use either the Fiscal Period field or the Start Date and End Date fields to specify a date range. However, if you enter a date in the Start Date and End Date fields, the report will use those parameters. If you put in a Date Filter or Period Post, the report will use that date range represented by the period post instead.

Important

To use the Fiscal Period option in reporting, you will first need to activate Enable Fiscal Period Feature in the Fiscal Period fast tab of SL Overlay Setup. For more information on the SL Overlay Setup page, see: SL Overlay Setup

If you enter a period range for Beginning Period and Ending Period this will override any entries in the Date filter field. and dates entered are not used.
